Who We Are

Dr. Raquel Heisse, D.C.

Chiropractor

Dr. Raquel Heisse, D.C.

Dr. Raquel is proud to bring specific, individualized Gonstead chiropractic care to individuals and families in Ocala.

She takes the time to listen, thoroughly explain her findings, and answer each patient’s questions so they feel informed and confident in their care. In September 2026, she opened Palmetto Chiropractic’s Ocala office after seven years of practicing alongside Dr. John Neff in Clermont. A Missouri native raised in Wentzville, Dr. Raquel earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Missouri–Columbia. Before becoming a chiropractor, she worked in the competitive horse-training industry. Her experience with horses, combined with the profound impact chiropractic care had on her own scoliosis as a child, ultimately inspired her to pursue a career in chiropractic. She earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan University in 2018. While attending Logan, Dr. Raquel developed a passion for the Gonstead System and was selected for additional clinical training through the Logan Gonstead Intern Program. She has since completed more than 300 hours of Gonstead-specific seminars and received mentorship from Dr. Jeff Lawlor, Dr. Richard Cranwell, and Drs. Hilary and Derrijk Hollon. In 2022, she earned the distinction of Gonstead Diplomate. Dr. Raquel also incorporates her lifelong love of animals into her professional work. She completed the intensive 226-hour program at Options for Animals College of Animal Chiropractic and holds certifications from both the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA) and the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association (IVCA). Through Palmetto Chiropractic’s mobile animal practice, she provides chiropractic care for horses, dogs, cats, cattle, and hogs from Ocala to Orlando. Outside the clinic, Dr. Raquel enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, riding horses, gardening, and caring for the family’s animals.
